As we’ve noted before, it’s important that the ongoing discussion about KCI be focused on solutions and not simply debate. It is in this spirit that I share the following story that I received from a KCI traveler.
Today I went to use the restroom in the US Air terminal – these are the restrooms past security. The women’s restroom is closed, so they are having the women use the men’s restroom. There is an attendant at the door directing people in and out. She lets men use the restroom, then cleans it. Then the women use the restroom, then she cleans it. On and on. She is telling people as they go in that they wouldn’t have these problems if they could build a new terminal.
Apparently, the new terminal will be outfitted with super bathrooms that never break.
Rather than simply wonder if this is not another created “issue” designed to create aviation angst (it is certainly well coached) I have a solution that won’t cost $1.2 billion and will solve the restroom issue much faster.
At Lowes, the vaunted “Cobra 6-in Diameter Rubber Plunger with 18-in Handle” is available for $5.98. Check out these features:
- 6″ Rubber Heavy Duty Force Cup
- 18″ Plastic Handle
- Clears Clogged Toilets
- Clears Clogged Sinks, Showers & Tub Drains
I checked and the store closest to KCI has them in stock. I’ll happily have one delivered if needed. I just need to know to whom it should be delivered.
A true Kansas City solution. Very much like our ‘solution’ to the sewer issue. Kick the issue down the road until it’s even more expensive to resolve.
